Fines and Fees

We consider an item lost when it is not returned within two weeks (14 days) of its due date. When an item is two weeks overdue, we bill you for the replacement and processing fees. Return the item in good condition and we'll waive the replacement and processing fees.

You are responsible for returning library materials in the same condition that they were checked out to you. Damage to library items includes, but is not limited to, the following:

• Removal of library stickers/covers
• Drawing and writing inside or on the item
• Liquid damage and staining
• Removal or tearing of pages
• Persistent odors
• Breaking the lock mechanism on DVD and CD cases
• Scratching or cracking discs

If you notice an item you have checked out is damaged, please notify the library as soon as possible.

We waive the replacement fee for lost or damaged items if you provide a replacement item. Processing fees still apply. This item must be in new condition and the same as the damaged or lost item. Not sure if the item you've found is a suitable replacement? Please contact the library before you buy.

Did you find a lost item that you already paid for? We'll refund the replacement fee if you:

• Bring the item in within three months of paying
• Bring the found item to the front desk

All refunds are provided in cash. We don't refund processing fees or fees for damaged items.
